AutoFrame is an Android app that turns a spare tablet into a living-room digital photo frame. Photos and videos you upload to your own Google Drive fade from one to the next, with each person's age and anniversary counters shown right on the photo.

AutoFrame records all of its data in your own Google account.
We run no servers of our own, store none of your photos or data, and ship no advertising or analytics SDKs.
The only Google API we use is the Google Drive API, through the drive.file scope, which reads and writes
only the files AutoFrame uploaded or that you picked in the app.
Signing in with Google (OAuth) is what lets the app put your photos and videos in your own Drive and load them back onto the frame;
nothing else in your Drive — and no contacts, calendar, or mail — is requested or read.

Sign in with a shared account
Use a Google account dedicated to the family frame. No account yet? You can create one straight from the app.

Upload photos and tag them
Send up a batch from your gallery. Register people and events once, and ages and counters are calculated for you.

One tap on Slideshow. Set the spare tablet on a stand and the family frame is done.

The Google permissions we ask for, and why
These are all of the permissions AutoFrame requests on your Google Account.
Drive file access drive.file
Needed to upload the photos and videos you want on the frame to your own Google Drive, load them back for the slideshow, and delete them from inside the app. This scope only covers files AutoFrame created or that you picked in the app. It cannot read anything else already in your Drive.
Basic account info openid email profile
Needed to show which account the frame is currently running on and to identify the Drive account the photos are stored in. We request no other Google data — no contacts, calendar, mail, or photo library.
Nothing is stored on our servers
Your photos, videos, and the people and anniversary settings all stay in your own Google Drive. AutoFrame runs no server of its own, and does not collect, transfer, or sell your Google data. There are no ad or analytics SDKs in the app. Signing out in the app, or revoking access in your Google Account settings, ends the connection.

Frequently asked
Where are my photos stored?
In your own Google Drive. AutoFrame is a frame that shows photos — it is not a backup service and does not take responsibility for storing them. Keep your originals elsewhere.
Does it play videos?
Yes. In the slideshow a video plays to the end before the next item, and you can toggle mute while it plays.
How is the age on a photo calculated?
It compares the person's date of birth with the photo's capture date to show the age at capture, alongside their age today. Events work the same way for elapsed time. People and events are a Premium feature.
What if my Drive fills up?
The usage gauge shows where you stand, and you can select and delete photos yourself. Keeping only the most recent N and threshold-based auto-clean are Premium features. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Is it safe to leave running all day?
There's a keep-screen-awake option, and the app explains how to exempt itself from battery optimization for long runs. Keeping it plugged in is recommended.
Which devices are supported?
Android phones, tablets and foldables. The grid adds columns automatically as the window gets wider.
